Root Pragmatic LLC
Last Updated: April 26, 2026
This Privacy Notice describes the privacy practices of Root Pragmatic LLC (“Root Pragmatic LLC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) with respect to information we collect from visitors and registered users of our website and related services (collectively, the “Service”).
Root Pragmatic LLC operates on a simple premise: we collect as little personal information as possible, we do not share it, we do not sell it, and we do not disclose it to third parties absent a valid court order. This Notice explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the rights you have with respect to it.
This Notice applies to all individuals who interact with the Service, regardless of state of residence. Where applicable U.S. state consumer privacy laws (including but not limited to the California Consumer Privacy Act and the Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act) provide additional rights, those rights are described in Section 8.
Root Pragmatic LLC limits the personal information it collects to the minimum necessary to operate the Service. Specifically, we collect and process only:
We do not collect Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, postal addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, government identifiers, financial account numbers, payment card numbers, biometric data, geolocation data, browsing history beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the Service, or any of the categories of “sensitive personal information” defined under applicable U.S. state consumer privacy laws.
Any user-generated content you choose to enter into or upload to the Service is stored in association with your account. “User-generated content” means any data, text, files, notes, or other material you create, input, or upload through the Service, regardless of subject matter. We treat user-generated content as confidential and apply the same handling standards described in this Notice. We do not access, review, analyze, or disclose user-generated content except as strictly necessary to operate the Service or as required by valid legal process.
We collect the personal information described in Section 2 directly from you, at the time you create an account or update your account information. We do not purchase, license, or otherwise acquire personal information about you from data brokers, advertising networks, social networks, public records, consumer reporting agencies, or other third-party sources.
We use your name and email address solely to:
We do not use your personal information for advertising, marketing analytics, profiling, automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, or any form of cross-context behavioral advertising.
Root Pragmatic LLC does not disclose your personal information to third parties except in the following narrow circumstances:
We do not disclose personal information to affiliates, advertising networks, advertising platforms, social networks, internet service providers, data analytics providers, government entities (absent legal compulsion), or other third-party businesses for any commercial, marketing, analytics, or research purpose.
Root Pragmatic LLC does not sell your personal information. We do not sell, rent, lease, or otherwise make personal information available to any third party in exchange for monetary or other valuable consideration.
Root Pragmatic LLC does not share your personal information for targeted advertising, cross-context behavioral advertising, or any similar purpose. We do not engage in these practices and have no plans to do so. Because we do not sell or share personal information for these purposes, there is no opt-out mechanism to enable; the default state is that no such activity occurs.
We retain your name and email address for as long as your account remains active. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize this information within a reasonable period thereafter, except where a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law (for example, to comply with tax, audit, or legal hold obligations).
Depending on your state of residence and the applicable U.S. consumer privacy law, you may have some or all of the following rights with respect to the personal information we hold about you:
You may request that we disclose the categories of personal information we have collected about you, the sources from which we collected it, the purposes for which we use it, and the specific pieces of personal information we hold about you. Because we collect only your name and email address, the answer to such a request is straightforward.
You may request that we delete the personal information we have collected from you. We will honor such requests subject only to limitations imposed by applicable law (for example, where retention is necessary to comply with a legal obligation).
You may request that we correct any inaccurate personal information we maintain about you. You can also update your name and email address directly within your account settings.
You may request a copy of your personal information in a portable, readily usable format.
We will not retaliate against you, deny you service, or otherwise treat you differently for exercising any of the rights described in this Notice.
Because Root Pragmatic LLC does not sell personal information and does not share personal information for targeted advertising or cross-context behavioral advertising, opt-out rights related to those activities do not apply. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a matter of policy, although they have no operative effect given our practices.
To exercise any of the rights described in Section 8, please contact us using the information in Section 11. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before responding, which may include confirming control of the email address associated with your account. Information you provide for verification will be used only to process your request.
Authorized agents, parents, legal guardians, and conservators may submit requests on your behalf where permitted by applicable law. We may verify the identity of such individuals and require proof of authority to act on your behalf.
If we deny or refuse to act on your request and applicable law provides an appeal right, you may appeal our determination within sixty (60) days of receiving it by contacting us using the information in Section 11.
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised Notice on the Service and update the “Last Updated” date at the top of the document. If the changes are material, we will notify registered users by email at the address associated with their account.
